Experience that began with service
Our team brings years of community-assistance experience developed through The Medicare Store (TMS) to The Chetwood Foundation. This work includes assistance with thousands of Texas Medicaid applications over the years. That history belongs to the team’s work under TMS; it is not a count of applications completed by the Foundation since its establishment in 2026.
Texas Medicaid and emergency Medicaid
We help people navigate application paperwork, organize supporting records, submit information and follow up on requests. Assistance includes Texas Medicaid and emergency Medicaid applications. HHSC determines eligibility and coverage; emergency Medicaid is not a substitute for emergency medical care.
SNAP food assistance
Help applying for SNAP, commonly called food stamps, includes organizing household information, application and renewal support, document submission and follow-up. Our goal is to make the process more understandable and manageable.
Social Security disability applications
We assist with the administrative steps involved in applying for SSI and SSDI, including organizing information, navigating official forms and preparing for agency follow-up. Social Security determines eligibility and disability status.
Renewals, notices and denied benefits
A notice can raise more questions than it answers. Ask about help organizing notices and records, identifying the agency’s stated next steps and connecting with appropriate appeal resources. Read every notice promptly; contacting TCF does not extend a deadline.
Help centered on your needs
Benefits application assistance is free. You do not need to buy insurance, make a donation or agree to marketing to request help. Current service focuses on Texas; availability depends on the program and location. TCF is an independent nonprofit and does not claim HHSC Community Partner certification or SSA office status.
Start with a conversation
Have the benefit program, state and county, and a general description of your question ready. For a denial, note the date and deadline shown on the notice. Do not send identification numbers, medical records, benefit notices or financial documents through this website.
