Start with everyday life

Think about which parts of the home feel difficult to use: entrances, steps, lighting, bathrooms and frequently used rooms. Make a list of concerns and discuss appropriate changes with qualified professionals.

Connect the need to the right resource

Home safety education, local aging services and repair assistance can address different parts of the same challenge. The Eldercare Locator is a starting point for local services. Our housing pathway explains TCF’s authorized Section 504 application packaging in Texas.

Plan around the individual

Aging in place should reflect the person’s wishes and circumstances. Our initiative is in development; this page does not offer a clinical assessment, a home inspection or a guarantee of funded modifications.
